The Alpaca experience at The Glass Duck

Come and meet our 3 young alpaca boys. At present there are only 3 alpacas in The Glass Duck herd.

Any alpaca experience must be booked with a fused glass workshop as a package. The alpaca experience can take place before or after the fused glass workshop but please book in advance. 

The  alpaca experiences are only available from April to October and may have to be cancelled if the weather conditions are very wet.  

The alpaca meet and greet - ( 30 mins) £10 per person + the cost of the fused glass workshop

Each session starts with a health and safety briefing. An introduction to these wonderful animals about their upkeep and a look at a fleece Then feed one of the alpacas from a bowl.Suitable for children over the age of 6 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. 

 

The alpaca meet and greet and walk (45mins - 1hour) £30 per person + the cost of the fused glass workshop

Each session starts with a health and safety briefing.An introduction to these wonderful animals about their upkeep and a look at a fleece. We halter and introduce you to your alpaca giving you the time you need to take pictures and become acquainted with them. Feed your alpaca from a feedbowl.

Once we are all set to go, we walk around the paddock with them This halter walk will last about 15 - 20 mins. Finally time for a photo opportunity before your alpaca is released back into the paddock to relax. . 

Strictly no dogs allowed. 

This experience is suitable for children over 11 years. A child can lead an alpaca with a responsible adult only. No unaccompanied under 18s please. This is a lead walk alongside the alpaca. Clients do NOT ride the alpacas. 

Please wear suitable clothing and shoes. No sandals or flip flops.
